Applications open for migrant workers regularization

From June 1st until August 15th it is possible to send an application to regularize an employment relationship with a foreign (or Italian) worker or apply for a 6 months residence permit. This is possible only for specific sectors of work activities and under certain conditions.

 

2 possible options:

  1. The employer (company or individual) can apply for a work permit (or declare an irregular work relationship with a foreigner or Italian national) for a foreign national in Italy
  2. The foreign national with a permit expired since October 31st can apply for a 6 months residence permit

 

Sectors of activity:

Applications are possible only for the following sectors of activity (based on “codice ateco”, list attached to the implementing decree):

  • Agriculture, livestock, fishing, and related activities
  • Caregiver
  • Domestic work

 

Option 1:

  • The Employer (Italian, EU national or foreigner with EU permanent residence permit): shall have an income/turnover not lower than EUR 30.000 per year if working in the Agriculture, livestock, fishing and related activities sector or EUR 20.000-27.000 if in the caregiver domestic work sector
  • The foreigner: must have been in Italy before and at March 8 (as attested by fingerprints declaration of presence or other supporting documents)

 

When: applications can be filed from 7am June 1st, 10pm August 15th

Where: Sportello Unico immigrazione (Immigration office) by filing an online application at https://nullaostalavoro.dlci.interno.it/ (SPID required)

How much: For each worker, the employer is required to pay a flat fee of EUR 500

 

Option 2

 

Foreign nationals who have a residence permit expired since October 31st (not renewed or converted) and who have worked in the sectors of activities mentioned above can apply for a 6 months valid residence permit

 

When: applications can be filed from June 1st to August 15th

Where: Questura (Police Office) through the Post Offices providing “Sportello Amico” services

What it is necessary to submit: passport, equivalent documents or consular attestation; evidence of being in Italy at March 8 and of having worked in the required sectors

How much: A flat fee of EUR 130 is required
