July 6th, 2023, the Italian Council of Ministers has approved, in preliminary examination, a decree containing a “three-year plan” (instead of a yearly plan which has been always used) for over 450,000 entries between 2023 and 2025.
The aim of this is mainly to promote legal immigration (as the decree increases the regular entry quotas for work reasons and also, extends the professional categories and sectors involved in the flussy system) and to gradually reduce the gap between entry flows and the labour market.
