Decreto Flussi: Italian Government Announces the Quotas of Non-EU Workers Allowed in Italy for 2022

The Government has set in 82,705 quotas to be allocated to for the year 2022 to different categories of non-EU citizens who intend to work in the country.

In particular:

  • 44,000 are reserved to entries for seasonal work
  • 31,205 quotas for subordinate work, but only for specific sectors of activity and for certain nationalities;
  • 7,000 are reserved to permit conversion for foreign citizens already in possession of a residence permit in Italy or EU (study, seasonal work, permanent) intending to change status i.e. to convert the existing permit into a permit for employment/self-employment.
  • 500 quotas are for self-employment work, namely for entrepreneurs; startuppers; professionals; well known artists; Chairman, CEO, Member of board of directors, Auditor in an Italian company active since at least 3 years).
