Family Reunifications Stricter Rules Introduced by Italian Chamber
29 November 2024

The Italian Chamber of Deputies has approved DL 145/2024 (which covers immigration, entry quotas, and asylum https://www.mazzeschi.it/new-measures-for-the-entry-to-italy-of-foreign-workers-anti-exploitation-efforts-and-migration-management/) . It will now have to be approved by the Senate. Key changes include stricter rules for family reunifications. These can now only be requested after a continuous legal stay of at least two years in Italy. Additionally, housing suitability certificates will only be issued by municipalities after verifying the number of occupants and other required conditions.
